Friday the 13th (Maple Is Unbothered)
It’s Friday the 13th, and I checked in with Maple this morning about her concerns. She sniffed her breakfast, found it acceptable, and went back to sleep in a square of sunlight. No concerns registered.
I think Maple’s onto something. Luck is a funny thing. We treat bad luck like a weather system — something that rolls in from outside, beyond our control. But most of what looks like luck, when you get close to it, turns out to be consistency wearing a dramatic costume.
The people who seem lucky are usually just the ones who kept showing up when showing up was hard. Today is going to be fine. Maybe even good. The number on the calendar has very little say in how your Friday goes — you have considerably more influence over that.
And if something does go sideways today, blame it on the date. It’s fine. Sometimes we all need a convenient excuse.
Go easy out there. Maple says you’ve got this.
What’s one small thing you can do today to make your own luck?
