The Slow Grower
Here’s something I think about every spring: bulbs.
Those daffodils and crocuses showing up right now? They’ve been underground since fall. Months of cold and dark and silence. From the outside: nothing. Zero visible progress. Just a bulb, under the ground, doing its work on a timeline that doesn’t answer to anyone’s impatience.
Some things grow that way. Slowly, invisibly, requiring patience. A skill you’re developing. A relationship you’re building. A version of yourself you’re becoming, one quiet day at a time. You can’t see the progress while it’s happening. That doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
If something in your life has felt stuck or underground lately, maybe it’s just not ready to show itself yet. The bulb doesn’t require your supervision. It’s working.
Invisible progress is still progress. Trust the process underground.
What’s something you’ve been working on that hasn’t shown itself yet?
