The Monday That Follows a Good Weekend

There’s a particular kind of Monday that follows a weekend where you actually rested. Where you did something for yourself, or spent time with someone you love, or simply had two days that felt like they belonged to you.

That Monday is different. It doesn’t feel like a wall. It feels more like a door. You walk through it with something in the tank instead of running on empty from the start.

If that’s your Monday today, notice it. Take a second and notice that you feel different than you do after a weekend that blurred into stress. That difference is data. It’s your body telling you something about what it needs on a recurring basis, not just occasionally.

And if this Monday is hard, that’s okay too. The door and the wall are both just Monday. You’ve gotten through it before. You’ll get through it again. Start with the ten percent. Go from there.

Rest is not a luxury. It’s what makes Monday feel like a door instead of a wall.

What made this past weekend feel either restful or draining — and what does that tell you?
