Halfway Through the Week, Halfway Through March
Wednesday. Also mid-March. A double midpoint, which feels like it deserves a little acknowledgment.
Here’s the thing about middles: they’re where most things actually happen. Not the exciting starts, not the satisfying endings — the middles. The ordinary, underrated, showing-up-again part.
My grandfather had a clock he wound every Wednesday. Said it was because by midweek, the spring gets loose. You start the week with energy and by Wednesday it’s running down. If you don’t attend to it, things stop.
So today, check in with yourself. Not how you think you should be doing — how are you actually doing? What do you need? What can you set down for a few hours? Wednesday earns a little tending.
Wind the clock. The second half of the week will go better for it.
What’s one thing you can do today to take care of yourself right in the middle of everything?
