The Last Day of March

Image for: The Last Day of March

You made it through March. All 31 days of it.

I know that sounds small. But here’s what those 31 days actually held: the start of spring. The turning of the light. The slow thaw of things that had been frozen. International Women’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day and the Ides of March, which — as predicted — you survived. Some Mondays, some Fridays, a lot of Wednesdays. Hidden wins you may or may not have counted. Small reliabilities you kept, or almost kept, or kept eventually.

That’s a whole month of showing up. And showing up, consistently, through 31 days — that compounds into something real. Not something you can see in a single day. But something.

April begins tomorrow. A fresh page. Tonight, let March be complete.

A month of small efforts is not a small thing.

What’s one word you’d use to describe what March was for you?
