The August Inventory
Thursday. The last Hidden Win Inventory of August. Get the pen — this one covers the month.
August gave you the golden light and the Perseids overhead. It gave you porch sits and slow breakfasts and the last long evenings of the season. It gave you the ordinary weeks too — the Mondays you began, the Tuesdays you showed up for, the Wednesdays you got through on lower fuel than you’d have liked.
So count it. What did you build in August? What did you keep going? What got easier? What did you survive? What summer thing did you actually do? What small promises did you keep when nobody was checking?
And one more, specific to this month: what did you savor? Because savoring counts as a win too. Every moment you were actually present for — the meteor, the golden hour, the porch — that’s a moment you didn’t lose to autopilot. Add them to the list.
Savoring counts as a win. Every moment you were present for is one you didn’t lose to autopilot.
What’s one moment from August you were fully present for?
