Beware the Ides of March (You’re Probably Fine)
Julius Caesar had a genuinely bad day on March 15th. Most of us will not. The Ides of March gets a lot of dramatic press for what is, historically speaking, a fairly normal Sunday.
Still. There’s something useful in the phrase — this idea of a warning, a moment to pay attention. So here’s mine for today: don’t let the week’s anticipation steal Sunday from you.
The Sunday scaries are real. Monday is coming. But Monday hasn’t arrived yet, and right now, you have Sunday. This particular, unrepeatable Sunday afternoon. With whatever light is coming through your window and whatever’s warm in your mug.
You’ve done Monday before. You’ll do it again. Tonight, the porch light stays on, and you can rest a little before the week begins.
The week is coming. It always does. But it isn’t here yet.
How are you taking care of yourself today before the week begins?
