The Thing April Teaches About Monday

Kris Evergreen here. Good morning from a mid-April Monday that is genuinely, honestly, noticeably spring now.

I think April teaches something useful about Monday mornings, which is this: things look different at different stages. The tree that looked bare and dormant in February is not bare anymore. The effort that looked invisible in January has been compounding. The growth that seemed like it wasn’t happening was happening underground the whole time.

Whatever you started at the beginning of the year — whatever you committed to and then lost confidence in somewhere around week three — it might be further along than it looks from the outside. Growth is still mostly invisible right up until it isn’t.

Start your Monday with a little April faith. Not blind optimism. Just the steady trust that what you’ve been tending to has been quietly growing.
