The Courage It Takes on a Tuesday
I want to talk about a specific kind of courage that I think gets overlooked: the courage it takes to keep doing something on a Tuesday.
Not the courage of the dramatic moment. Not the crisis courage or the once-in-a-decade courage. The Tuesday kind. The kind where you’ve been at something for a while, the novelty is completely gone, the results are not yet visible, and you do it anyway because you said you would and because you believe, on some level, that it’s the right direction even when it doesn’t feel like anything much.
That is real courage. Quieter than the kind we celebrate. More common. More necessary. More available to ordinary people on ordinary Tuesdays than any other kind.
You probably did something that took that courage this week without naming it as courage. Name it today.
The courage it takes to keep going on a Tuesday is real, quiet, and necessary. Name it.
What’s something you’ve been doing consistently lately that deserves to be called courageous, even if it doesn’t feel dramatic?
