The Cozy Friday Protocol
Friday. The first proper fall Friday of the year, and the perfect occasion to introduce the Cozy Friday Protocol — my recommended sequence for ending a fall week well.
Step one: the five-minute tidy, so tomorrow-you wakes up to order instead of chaos. Step two: the note to Monday-you — where things stand, what’s first. Step three: the transition marker. This is the important one in fall. Change the clothes. Light the candle. Put on the first cozy playlist of the season. Something physical that tells your body: work is over, the weekend has begun, we are in soft mode now.
Fall evenings are built for this. Summer Fridays spill outward — patios, plans, light until nine. Fall Fridays gather inward, and the gathering is the pleasure. The early dark isn’t a loss on a Friday night. It’s permission. The world closes early so you can too.
Close the week. Light something warm. You made it.

What’s your transition marker — the thing that tells your body the weekend has begun?
