The Harvest Inventory

Thursday. Hidden Win day. And in harvest season, the inventory writes itself: what are you bringing in?

Farmers don’t harvest what they planted this week. They harvest what went in the ground in spring, what got tended through summer, what survived the dry stretch in August. October is the payoff month for work done long ago and mostly forgotten.

Your life has a harvest too. The relationship that’s deeper because you kept showing up on unremarkable Tuesdays. The skill that finally clicked because you gave it fifteen minutes a day for months. The habit that stopped being effort and became just what you do. None of it feels dramatic today. All of it is the harvest of seeds you’ve forgotten you planted.

Get the pen. What’s coming in this fall that you planted back when it was warm? Count it. And while you’re at it — what are you planting now, for a harvest you won’t see until spring?
