The Thaw

Spring doesn’t come all at once. It thaws. Slowly. Unevenly. One day it feels like it’s finally here, and the next day there’s frost on the windshield again, and you think: okay, it’s not done yet.

Thaws are like that. In weather, and in people. You’ve been holding something tight through the winter, maybe. Some protective tension. Some version of keeping yourself braced against the cold. And now, slowly, you might be able to let that loosen a little.

Not all at once. You don’t have to open everything up in one go. Just a little softening. A little less braced. A little more willing to be warm.

The ground doesn’t thaw overnight. Give yourself that same timeline.

The ground doesn’t thaw overnight. Give yourself the same grace.

Is there something in your life — a feeling, a habit, a relationship — that you’re ready to let soften a little?
