The Gentle Audit
Sunday. And with about two weeks of August left, this is a good day for what I call the gentle audit.
Not a harsh review. Not a performance evaluation. Just a kind, honest look at how you’re spending yourself. Where is your time actually going? Where is your energy actually going? And — the important question — does the spending match what you’d say matters most to you?
Most of us drift. Not because we’re careless, but because life accumulates. Commitments stack up. Habits calcify. The calendar fills with things that made sense once and never got re-examined. The gentle audit is just the periodic act of looking at it all and asking: still true? Still worth it? Still mine, or just momentum?
You don’t have to change anything today. Just look, kindly and honestly. Awareness goes first. Adjustment follows on its own schedule.
Still true? Still worth it? Still mine, or just momentum? Ask kindly, but ask.
Where is your energy going that might be momentum rather than choice?
