The Long Weekend Friday
Friday. And for many of you, Monday is a holiday — which means a three-day weekend is sitting on the other side of this afternoon, waiting.
I’ve made the case before and I’ll make it again: three days is enough time to actually arrive at rest. Day one you shed. Day two you settle. Day three, you’re finally, genuinely off — and that’s the day worth protecting. Don’t spend it all on errands and catch-up. Save some for nothing.
And an October note: this is the last long weekend before the holiday season starts making its own demands. From here to New Year’s, the calendar tilts toward obligation — the good kind, mostly, but obligation all the same. This weekend is the deep breath before that. Take it like one.
Close the week clean. Then go be quiet somewhere for a while.

What’s the do-nothing portion of your long weekend going to look like?
