Summer Is Knocking
Last Friday of May. One more day after today and May is done, and then June arrives and summer begins properly and the whole rhythm of things shifts again.
I love this Friday. The last Friday of a spring month, the weekend before June. There’s something about it that feels genuinely anticipatory in a way that’s all potential and no pressure yet. Summer hasn’t made any demands. It’s just out there, knocking, smelling like warm grass and the particular quality of late-May air, waiting to see what you’re going to do with it.
Before you close this week out: what do you want from summer? Not in a big, goal-setting way. Just — what are you hoping for? What would make it a good one? Name it, even just quietly, so it’s real instead of just a feeling.
The season that’s coming is yours. It’s worth deciding what you want to do with it.
