The Thing You’ve Been Orbiting
Most of us have at least one thing we’ve been circling for a while. Not ignoring exactly — we think about it, we plan to address it, we mention it to ourselves in quiet moments. We’re just not quite doing the thing yet. We’re orbiting it.
The orbit can go on for a surprisingly long time. Months, sometimes. The thing becomes familiar from a distance. You know all its edges. You’ve thought through every approach. What you haven’t done is land.
Thursday’s question is always about the hidden wins — what you’ve done that you haven’t credited yourself for. Today I want to pair it with the honest flip side: what’s the thing you’ve been orbiting? Not to add pressure. Just to name it. Because once you name it clearly, the orbit usually shortens. Something about saying the actual thing out loud makes landing feel more possible.
Name the thing you’ve been orbiting. That’s usually what shortens the orbit.
What’s one thing you’ve been circling that might be ready for you to actually land on?
