The Easy Friday
Some Fridays you fight for. This one, I hope, comes a little easier. We’re in the loose, warm middle of summer, and there’s an unspoken agreement this time of year that things can slow down a little, that the week can end without a sprint to the finish.
I’m a big believer in the summer Friday. The kind where you wrap up what genuinely needs wrapping up, and then let the rest go until Monday without guilt. Where you maybe step outside in the long evening light and feel the week actually end. Where rest isn’t something you have to negotiate for.
Whatever this week held, close it gently. Do your version of the five-minute tidy if a clear space helps you feel done. Then let the weekend be a weekend. Summer doesn’t last forever — the warm Fridays are worth savoring while they’re here.
Let rest be something you take, not something you negotiate for.
What’s your favorite way to ease into a summer weekend?
