The Unfinished Symphony
Thursday. Hidden Win day. And today I want to defend something we usually count against ourselves: the unfinished things.
You have projects half-done. Everyone does. The book part-read, the course part-taken, the garage part-organized, the idea part-developed. The instinct is to see these as failures — evidence of not following through. But look closer. Every one of those half-finished things is also half-started. You began. You put real hours in. You learned something in the doing, even if the doing stopped.
Some unfinished things are waiting for their season — and their season may be now, per yesterday’s September Reset. Some served their purpose at half-done and never needed finishing. And some taught you what you didn’t want, which is among the most valuable things a person can learn.
Today, look at one unfinished thing without flinching. Ask it: are you waiting, complete-as-is, or a lesson? All three answers count as wins.
Every half-finished thing is also half-started. Waiting, complete-as-is, or a lesson — all three count.
What’s one unfinished thing in your life, and which of the three is it — waiting, done enough, or a lesson?
