The Refill Day

Image for: The Refill Day

Sunday. And after a summer that’s been busy with good things, this is a refill day.

You can’t pour from an empty cup — you’ve heard it a hundred times, and it’s still true, and most of us still run ourselves close to empty before we remember it. Summer is especially sneaky about this. All the fun, all the plans, all the making-the-most-of-it can quietly drain the same tank that rest is supposed to fill.

So today, deliberately refill. Whatever genuinely restores you — solitude or company, movement or stillness, a nap or a project or a long quiet afternoon. Not as a reward for being productive. As basic maintenance for being a person.

The week ahead will ask things of you. Show up for it with a full cup, not a depleted one. Today is for filling back up.

You can’t pour from an empty cup. Refill today — not as a reward, as maintenance.

What genuinely refills your cup, and can you make room for it today?
